The state hatcheries' supply comprises over a million trout eggs and fingerlings. Stocking is being effected from hatcheries at Marion, Waynesvillo, Pineola, and Roaring Gap. Fish will be distributed first to publicly owned and leased waters open to all anglers and then to other streams, livers, and lakes, and ponds suitable for stocking which are under private management. Canton Girl Named To Duke Hospital Staff Miss Clara Carver, daughter of Mr and Mrs. Smiley Carver, of Canton, has been assigned duties as assistant head nurse on general surgery at Duke University Hos pital. Durham, following her grad uation last Saturday from the Duke L'niversity School of Nursing. Miss Carver was a student at Western Carolina Teachers College for two years and was assigned as a special science student. She pre viously had completed her work at the Canton high school, graduat ing with the classe of 1941. She entered the Duke University School of Nursing on April 1. 1943, and graduated with honors Satur day. Her parents ami two sisters.
