Cooked cabbage held in the refriger ator two or three days and then re heated does not lose as much C as that kept standing on the stove for an hour or two. Central May- Day Attracts Large Crowd More than 300 parents and pa trons of the Central Klementary school attended the May Day pro gram presented on the school grounds last Thursday afternoon with 150 students in costumes tak ing part in the colorful entertain ment. Miss Stephanie Moore assisted by Sol Cohen, music director of Springdalc school had charge of the music, and the members of faculty trained those taking part. Mary Crouser was chosen May Queen and Paul Dennis. King, both members of the sixth grade. Others taking part were: Harry Kerley, court jester: Patsy F.ell. the grass; Nancy Francis, the rosy dawn; Clara Sue Shuler. the evening star; Judy Hubert, the sun. Features given as entertainment for the May Queen included the following: "Dance of greeting." by first grade students; ".lump Jim Crow." by first and second grade pupils; "Shoemaker's Dance," by second grade students; "A hunting we will go," by third graders; "Children's Polka." by fourth grade pupils: "Pop goes the weasel," by fifth and sixth grades: "Virginia Reel." by fifth and sixth graders; and "May Pole Dance." fifth and sixth grade students. Serving as ushers were: Louise McBride. Patsy Bryson, Willie Greenarch. Mary Kdna Gaddis. Wanda Lee Davis and Sarah .Moore. During the afternoon a silver offering was taken and the enter taining program closed with a final song, "Springtime is here." I bet cows are certainly thankful for lespedeza. (International) May Term Court Adjourned On Last Thursday The May Superior court, civil term over which Judge Wilson Warlick presided, adjourned last Thursday after a four days' session. The highlight of the court was the granting of 45 divorce cases, which breaks any previous court record for the same period. Other eases not reported In last week's issue included the follow ing: Mrs. Rosemary Rippetoe White w ho brought suit against Mrs. Nana Shankle for damages for injuries sustained in an automobile acci dent and also damages to her ear was awarded $r00 and cost of the court and medical expenses. Mrs. Genie K. Ferguson was al lowed one-third the estate of her husband at the time of his death, and a payment of $50 in the case of Genie K. Ferguson versus J. R. Ferguson.
