Garner Aboard Perry On Training Cruise Henry H. Garner of Boute 1, Waynesville, left from Charleston yesterday for a two weeks' train ing cruise aboard the destroyer USS Perry, with many other naval reservists from Georgia, North and South Carolina. The destroyer will visit Bermu da, where liberty will be granted. The cruise is part of the Navy's V-6 training program, with full Navy sea pay and allowances offered to each reservist who accepts the duty. TRUMAN KILLS 3 AGENCIES WASHINGTON (JP) President Truman Wednesday abolished OPA and two other major wartime agencies effective June 1 and or dered most of their remaining functions, including rent controls, transferred to other departments on May 4.
