Table decorations and favors were in the Valentine motif. Fol lowing the serving of suddpt the party was entertained at the Park theater tor tne showing of "Red Stallion." Guests present, including mem bers of the host's cub scout troop, were Myrna Miller, Ilsa Feichter, sorority and the Phi Eta Tau ath letic sorority. Mr. Milner attended the Univers ity of South Carolina and graduat ed from Duke University. At both universities he was an outstanding football player, having been named on the AH-American team in 1943, while attending Duke. He was also captain of the 1946 Duke team and was included in the "Who s Who in Colleges and Universities of Am erica." Mr. Milner is a member of the Kappa Alpha fraternity and the Omega Delta Kappa honorary frat ernity. He served with the Marine Corps in the Pacific during World War II. At present he is playing professional football with the Chi cago Bears. Clyde Home Club Has January. (International Soundphoto) Mary Jane Fish Is Bride Of Bryson Ledford Miss Mary Jane Fish, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Fish of Clyde, became the bride of Bryson James Ledford, son of Mrs. F. T. Ball of Canton, and the late B. J. Ledford, in a ceremony which took place at four o'clock in the afternoon nn Saturday, January 24, at the Clyde Hapust Church. The Rev. J. E. Sampley, pastor of the Clyde Methodist church, offi ciated, using the double ring cere mony. The vows were spoken be neath an arch entwined with ivv and the church was decorated with arrangements of white gladioli and chrysanthemums against a back ground of evergreens. Lighted ca thedral tapers were used in seven branched' candelbra and a single taper was used in each window. The reserved seats were marked with white satin bows attached to winter bronze leucaena. A program of music was present ed by Miss Jancie Smathers, orga ninst, and Miss Alice Fincher, so loist. Prior to the ceremony, Miss Smathers played, "Evening Star," by Wagner, "All The Things You Are,'" by Korn, "Indian Love Call," by Friml, "Intermezzo," by Prevost and "Berceuse" from "Jocelyn," by Godard. Miss Fincher sang, "1 Love Thee," by Grieg, and "Be cause," by d'Hardelot. The tradi tional marches were used as pro cesisonal and recessional. The bride, who was given in mar riage by her father, wore a whilp duchess satin gown fashioned with an olT-the-shoulder neckline and yoke of rose point lace. The lone sleeves ended in points over the ? in a rounded train. She wore a finger tip veil of imported illusion which was held in place bv a wreath of nranee hlnsgnme Kho carried a white Bible to which was all ached a white orchid and white rose buds showered with white sal in streamers and tiny rose buds. Miss Geraldine Fish, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a town of soft acqua brocade taffeta marie similar to that of the bride with long mitts of matching ma terial. Her half hat was also of aqua brocade and she carried a cascade boquet of yellow roses, and yellow and while carnations cent ered with an orchid camellia and showered with orchid sweet peas and slock. Lillle Elaine Ellis of Clyde, a cousin of the bride, was flower girl. She wore a dress of yellow taffeta fashioned similar to that of the maid of honor and carried a basket filled wilh rose petals. Her half-hat was of yellow taffeta. Jack J. Belcher of Canton, cousin of the bridegroom, served as best man and ushers were Donald Ran dolph of Canton, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, Milton Brown, cousin of the bride, and Horace Ellis and Sidney Haynes. uncles of the bride. The bride's mother wore a dress of Beauvais brown with yellow ac cessories and her corsage was a purple and white orchid. The bridegroom's mother wore a black dress trimmed with blue and black sequins and an orchid corsage. Following the wedding the couple left for a wedding trip to Florida. For traveling the bride wore a blue gabardine suit with grey and white accesosries. Her corsaae was a white orchid detached from her wedding bouquet. Upon their return Mr. and Mrs. Ledford will make their home in Canton. Mrs. Ledford is a native of Hav- wood county and a graduate of Clyde High school. She attended Woman's Collese in Greensboro and is employed in the Industrial Relations Department of the Cham pion Paper and Fibre Company. Mr. Ledford is a graduate of the Caoton High school and Oak Ridge Military Institute. He served three and a half years with the armv durine World War II. He is a member of the Phalanx Fraternity, Veterans of Foreign Wars and as sistant Scoutmaster of Troon 4. Canton. He is now employed as' Founder's Day Ball Will Be Held Tonight The Founder's Day Ball, to be held tonight at the Armorv. will climax the tenth annual March of Dimes campaign for Haywood county. Proceeds from the sale of tickets will augment funds raised toward the county goal of $6,500. The event will be sponsored by the Beta Sigma Phi sorority under the chairmanship of Miss Catherine Jones. Carol Henry and his Buc aneers will provide music for the dance which will begin at 9 o'clock. Howard Choate will be master of ceremonies. A feature of the dance will be a grand march of the directors and workers of the Haywood County Chapter for the 1948 drive.
