In January of this year. Wood
entered the Air Force and was sent
to San Antonio, Texas, for basic
training after which he was sent
to Hamilton Field. California, for
overseas assignment. Departing
from San Francisco aboard the Ar
my Transport General Morton, he
errived on Guam in June of this
year.
Pfc. Wood expects to go back to
the Cnited States in December of
next year He plans to return to
civilian life and continue his education.

nounced that Staff Sergeant Otis
G. Lowe, son of Mrs. Otis G Lowe.
Hazelwood, is being relumed to the
I'niled Stales for reassignment.
Staff Sergeant Lowe, who has been
stationed at Yokota Air Force Base
since August 1947. was performing
duties with the 82nd Tactical Re
connaissance Squadron as a camel a
repairman with his Squadron's
Camera Repair section.
As a member of the 82nd Recon
naissance Squadron Sergeant Lowe
belonged to the only jet propelled
photographic reconnaissance unit
in Japan. This out lit is one of the
outstanding reconnaissance units in
the Far East Air Forces and is pres
ently occupied with the Air Force's
plan of mapping the entire world
Prior to his entrance into the
I'niled States Air Force during
January H4( Stall Sergeant Lowe
graduated from Crabtree High
School, Crabtree. North Carolina.
After completing basic training he
was selected to attend the Air
Forces Photography School at
Lowry Air Force Base. Denver.
Colorado. He graduated from this
school during Ihe latter part of
1()4() and was stationed at Langloy
Air Force Base, Virginia, prior to
his overseas tour which he Just
completed in Japan.
