BEN SLOAN, Society Editor Office Phone 700 Home Phope 462-J Recent Bride Mrs. Robert Plott Observes 95th Birthday Mrs. Robert H. Plott, one of Haywood's oldest citizens, reached her ninety-fifth birthday on Febru ary 15. The occasion was celebrat ed with a family dinner given the following Sunday at Mrs. Plott's J home on the Soco Gap Road. Hosts ifor the affair were Mr. and Mrs. 'Herbert Plott, the former a son of !the honor guest, and Miss Minnie Plott, a daughter. I Other children present were W. Roy Plott, J. R. Plott, and Homer J Plott. Another son Dave Plott, was unable to attend on account of Hl- j Mrs. Plott, the former Miss Mat J tie Moody, was born February 15, 1 1855 in Haywood County. She is the daughter of the late James L. and Nancy Henry Moody and the i granddaughter of Ruben Moody, ' pioneer settler of this county. i She was married on January 2, 1 1873 and has resided since that J time at the Plott home place on the i Soco Road. Her husband, a farmer land veteran of the War Between J the States, died . more than 20 i years ago. Eleven children were born to the couple, five of whom , are deceased. Route 1, to Charles Rogers of Lake Junaluska, son of Lyman Rogers of Lake Junaluska and Mrs. Mary Rogers of West Ashevllle. The ceremony took place in the Baptist parsonage at Henderson ville on Saturday afternoon, Feb ruary 11, with the Baptist pastor officiating. The bride was attired in a suit of wine wool gabardine with black accessories and her corsage was of yellow roses. The couple was attended by the bridegroom's brother-in-law and sister, -Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Yar-borough. The bride was graduated from Fines Creek High School with the class, of 1948 and since that tfme has been employed as treasurer of the Production Marketing Admini stration in Waynesville. Mr. Rogers was educated in the Waynesville , Schools and served four and one half years in the Air Corps during World War II. At present he is studying under the G. I. program in Waynesville.
