Once they're out of the oven mix confec tioner's sugar with, a little hot wat er, flavor with vanilla, and mark a cross en each bun. , j n HOT CR6SS BUNS ingredients: 1 package yeast, li cup lukewarm water 1 cup milk, cup sugar, 2 teaspoons salt, 4 cup shortening, ta teaspoon nut meg, ti teaspoon cinnamon, 3l4 cups gifted enriched flour, 2 eggs, 1 cup currants. . Method: Soften yeast , in Juke warm , water. Scald milk and add ugar, salt, and shortening. Cool to ukewarm. Add I cup, of the flpur, nutmeg and cinnamon, Beat well. Add softqned yeast and egfii?, and again beat. well. t Add remaining flour, to make a thick batter. Beat thoroughly .until smooth. Cover and let rise until doubled (about 1 hour),. When light, stir down, Add currants, Drop by spoonfuls Into greased 2-1 m-h muffin pans, filling one-half ,ful. Let rise until doubled (about 45 minutes).
