That was 8 won derful moment. We didn't do too iuch celebrat ing that night we weve too tired Wt left Greensboro ai3ut nine thirty Saturday morning.V was an unusually quiet crowd t? nave made a one. Jimmy Gallowasfe marked: "This crowd sounds uW,? like they made a three" and we did. v.: We ate lunch in Hickory aod then stopped in Asheville foe about half an hour. As we were driving along to ward Enkav we heard a siren and realized we had a police esccit. Then right before we got td Can ton a patrolman joined the escort. We went through all the red lights in Canton. As we came to Lake Junaluska and saw all these cars (about 40) waiting for us, we cried, we were so happy. Then as we drove through Waynesville with all those sirens open and horns blowing, It was just too Wonderful to describe. M we left the bus ac" High School we were greeted by our Classmates and parents. Some of the boys in the band carried Mr. Isley through the crowd on their shoulders. Never was anybody as happy as we were that afternoon. It's wonderful to be able ot say, "I'm a member of the Waynes ville High School Band." (That's on of the three best bands la the state of North Carolina, you know,) The nutria" is a muskrat-like ani mal native to South America. W. II.
