Mrs. W. W. Normart of Griffin,
Georgia is spending this week here
as the guest of her son-in-law and
daughter, Mr. and Mrs, Richard
Barber, Jr.
Mrs. G. R. Easley, who has been
visiting her brother and slster-in-slaw,
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Barber,
Jr., left Sunday for her home in
Greeneville, S. C. She was accom
ipanied to Greenville by her hus
band and their small sons, Dicky

Is Host Of
Supper Party
Stanford Massie was host of a
supper party at his home in East
Waynesville Saturday evening In
celebration of his fifteenth birthday.'-"
Supper was served at the out
door fireplace and the lawn was
decorated with vari-colored bal
loons. Mr. and Mrs. Francis Massie,
parents of the host, assisted in en
tertaining.
The guests were Miss Julia Sto
vall, Miss Sally Stovall, Miss Laura
Woody, Miss Ninky Prevost. Miss
Nancy Francis, Miss Ann Coman

Program Monday
The last meeting of the Hazel-,
wo)d Parent-Teacher Association
for this term will be held Monday,
May 8, at 7:30 p.m. in the school
auditorium.
A program of special interest has
been planned which will include
talk on "The Child's Future Is
Now," by Jack Messer, county
school Superintendent.
The devotional program consist
ing of scripture reading, a prayer
and two songs, "I Would Be True
and "My Task," will be given by
students of the fourth grade taught
by Mrs. Verlin Shuler.
Another highlight will be a
fashion show, directed by Mrs. Lois
B. Hendrv. with around seventv
students of the school as model.
Styles in school clothes, dress
clothes, play clothes, and party
dress will be shown as well as cow
boy outfits; baseball,, basket ball
and football uniforms; rain outfits
and bedtime clothes. Musical back
ground will be provided In keep
ing with the fashions shown. ,

BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT
Mr. and Mrs. Everett Brown of
Bryson City announce the birth of
a daughter, Ann Davis, on April
30, at the C. J. Harris Hospital in
Sylva. Mrs. Brown is the former
Miss Catherine Davis, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs, C. S. Davis of Hazel
