Other officers elected were: Vice President, Albert McCracken of Lake Junaluska; Secretary Jan Ice Conine of Clyde; Treasurer, Hugh K. Terrell of Bethel; and Corresponding Secretary, Rose Ann Duckett of Canton. Reid Wall, Superin tendent and Minister of the Meth odist Home in Charlotte, will be the guest minister at the 11:00 worship service at the Clyde Meth odist Church Sunday, according to an announcement made today by Rev W. Contest In Haywootl County, won the Le- nolr-Rhyne College Speaking Con test, held in Hickory last Friday. Danny McClure, winner of this years DAR Contest, entered the Declamation division at the college, but failed to classify A number of Haywood Baptists will participate in the regional Training Union Convention to be held at Spruce Pine on Friday and Saturday of this week. Rev: L. G. Elliott, pastor of the First . Baptist church here has charge of the worship program on Saturday morning, and also the hymn festival later in the program. Mrs. Sam Knight, of Hazelwood, is in charge of the speakers tourna ment on Friday night. Mrs. Knight is regional Young People's Leader. The first session is Friday after noon, with other sessions Friday evening and Saturday morning. Miss Elizabeth .Elliott will sing solo on Saturday morning, and Capers Green will appear In the Friday afternoon tournament of adult Bible readers. A number from here are expect ed to attend the convention.
