C Ik Miss Medford And Fiance Are Honored . i Miss Bebe Medford and her fi ance, Albert Cline, Jr., of Canton, were honored at a dinner eiven Friday evening with Mrs. J. L. Reeves and Mrs. Jack Hampton as hostesses at the home of Mrs. Hampton. Tables at which the guests were seated were centered with vases of sweet peas In pastel shades and ap pointments were in the bridal motif. Following dinner bridge was played at three tables and high score prizes went to Miss Medford and Frank Hardin. The bride-elect was also presented a gift of cry3 tal in her pattern. Those present were Miss Med ford, Mr. Cline, Miss Marguerite Way, Miss Barbara Boyd, Miss Jean Ann Bradley, Miss Virginia Cline, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Clark, Bobby Harpe, Frank Hardin, Er win Burgin, and Larry Scruggs. Davis Chapel Society Meets With Mrs. Welch The Woman's Society, of Chris tian Service of Davis Chapel in Iron Duff held its regular monthly meeting at the home of Mrs W. C. Welch last Thursday afternoon. The program on, "Why My Gift Is So Needed," was discussed by Mrs. C. O. Newell. Mrs. F. E. Chambers, Mrs. Grady Davis, Mrs V. R. Davis, Mrs. J. M. Medford, Mrs. Mae Davis, Mrs. R. F. Davis, Mrs. T. C, Davis, Mrs. Roy Med ford, Mrs. Frank M. Davis, and Mrs. Welch. A social hour followed the meet ing and refreshments were served by the hostess. .:' Nip Ray, who is attending sum mer school at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, and Miss Jane Thompson of Louisv)lle, Ky., spent several days this week with the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs Clyde H. Ray. Mrs. Alley Is Installed As Club President Mrs. Edith Alley was installed as president of the Business and Professional Women's Club at a dinner meeting of the group held Tuesday night at Waynevllia Tea Room. Other officers installed with Mrs. Alley were Mrs. Alma McCracken, vice-president; Miss Frances Rose, recording secretary: Miss Dixie Campbell, corresponding secretary; and Mrs. Bill Dover, treasurer, The installation ceremony was conduct ed by Miss Margaret Johnston, new district director of Business and Professional Women's Clubs. Miss Frances Rose, chairman of the news service committee, on be half of the club, presented a past president's pin, to Mrs. M. G Stamey, retiring president.
