Friday ,hlght will find the same thing going on with a different group of. performers, alt compet ing for tlii championship finals of Saturday' evening, September 2. Some loo performers will be on the stage during the course of each evening during this folk dunce series of events. An orchard tour given Friday morning, September 1. starting at 9:30 a.m. This will be open for I home folks and visitors alike with transportation where needed. An important feature of Satur day. September 2, will be the 'Dutch'' Luncheon meeting of ap ple growers, 1:00 p.m., at the Home Food Shun Cafeteria. The principal reason of this meeting is for the purpose of going on record, if not to organize, the North Carolina Horticultural Society. Apply grow ers from all counties are invited to be present. The evening of September 2 will see the selection of the queen at the time of1 the championship folk finals, al !):00 p.m. For the public, and particularly visitors to Western North Carolina, there will be an opportunity for golf play in a tournament arranged for 1:00 p.m., September 3, at the Ilendersonville Golf arid Country Club. The l'eoriu system will be used. One of the finest features of the Festival will be the Flower Show' sponsored by the Kugby Garden Club, which will be held the afternoons and evenings of September 2 and September 3, be ginning at 1:00 p.m. and lasting until 10:00 p.m., at the French Broad Baptist Church. Recreation House on Highway 191 at Mills River, , The dairy interest will have their day in the form of a Junior Dairy Show scheduled for 1:30 p.m.. September 4, al the Western North Carolina Fair Grounds just out of Hendersonvillo. Music lovers will find a treat in the band concert arranged for Labor Day afternoon at 2:30 p.m. This will be put on by the Frusta Band under the direction of John Eversnian and the Ilendersonville Hand under the direction of Karl Martin Immediately' following the hand concert . thr. bands will form an honor guard for the queen who will be paraded down Main Street upon a beautiful combination float of apples and gladiolus to a 4:00 p.m. Street Dance on Main Street be tween the blocks of Third Avenue and Fourth Avenue.
