He was turned around from being a rirsfrover of the new faith into one of its most courageous de fenders and propagators. It is one of the strongest proofs of the truth of the gospel mat one so utterly antagonistic to Christ should become the tireless evan gelist of this same Christ. Paul has been most responsi ble for the direct evangelism of the Gentiles. Most of us owe our own Christianity to Paul. The long chain of past evangelism back through the centuries leads to Paul. It was through the efforts of Paul, as outlined in our lesson for last week, that the gospel was lifted from its strict racial bound aries so that it could go to the far end of the earth. Without this. Christianity might have remained a small Jewish sect. While not all of us arc called with the dramatic experiences of Paul on the road to Damascus, we all have an obligation to take or spnri the Gosnol to every nation. This gospel of Jesus Christ is the one hope of our world today, u we share the faith of Paul, we must surely share his zeal for the souls nf ail mankind Whatever we do in the name of the gospel of Jesus Christ is more important to the peace of the world than the work of the statesmen, diplomats or militarv lenders Dr. Albert Edward Day stresses this point when he declares: We are eoina to have a Christian world or we are going to burn up our uoaith in eunDOwder, build ships whose destiny is the bottom of the sea, rear boys to be blown to pieces or rfavs and niehts of torture, deprive our girls of husbands and homes and the right to De lovea. We have no other choice. It is noiohhnrliness or nothing . . ; The Christianization of the world is our task and humanity's hope. It must begin with us. But it must not end t hern As far and as fast as the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ wnmes our erateful experience, as true neighbors we must share Burnett Siding Baptist Church The Rev. Apparently it leads to some distant village or serves perhaps as a link between more vital thoroughfares. But in reality this road does neither. Once, no doubt, it had a destination, but today it fades away into the woods a few miles beyond a "dead end." How many lives are like this road? They have promis ing beginnings, but instead of continuing to worthwhile goals, they wander aimlessly to final dead ends. The Church teaches us to build useful lives and guides us toward noble achievements and ambitions. Regular, attendance at church services gives greater assurance that our pathway of life will not lead us astray. On the con trary, it leads straight to the house of the peaceful mind and the contented heart. FT i f m .
