In Randolph
W. R. MeC.hire of Waynesvilie,
commissioned last week-end as a
State Highway Patrolman, was as
signed this week to duty in Liberty.
Liberty is in Randolph county,
approximately 22 miles from
Greensboro, headquarters of the
young ollieer's troop.
He and M other men who grad
uated from Patrol School at Chapel
Hill last Friday were sworn in as
officers todav at Raleigh

Give Program
At Central PTA
A Christmas program was pre
sented by the two first (trades of
the Central Elementary School at
a meeting of the Parent-Teacher
i Association Tuesday afternoon.
Mrs. Troy Boyd's grade gave the
first part of the program which in

' the recitation of Bihle verses.
This was followed by play,
"Christmas Books," presented by
Miss lrma Patterson's grade. The
children represented characters in
books they would like to have for
Christmas.
Following the program a short
business meeting was held w ith Joe
Jack Atkins presiding.
The first grades won the award
for the largest percentage of par
ents present.
