Some 310,000 members kept per- Pfc. Milford R. Scruggs Wounded In Korea '-. Word has just been received by Lee Scruggs of Waynesville that his son. Pfc.. Milford R. Scruggs, .vas slightly .wounded in action in Korea on February 5. Pfc. Scruggs re-fii::-iled in the service in August, 1950. and after "xing in Fort Dix. N. J., and Fort Lewis, Washington, was assigned '.o Korea about a month ago. He is a vcleran oi World War II, having seen service from January 1940, till the end of the war. Mental Hygiene Workshop Set For March 5th To 7th Better relations between par- lents and children Is the theme of i the Mental Hygiene Workshop to be held on March 5, 6 and 7 at the Waynesville High auditorium The Haywood County Health De partment and the county school system are sponsoring the project for the benefit of teachers and in terested parents. The Workshop will be conduct ed by Dr. Robert M. Fink, consul tant in mental hygiene with the School-Health Coordinating Unit of the State Department of Public Instruction and the State Board of Health, Dr. Fink will lead discus sions of problems pertaining to the guidance and rearing of childrer and adolescents. He will show films dramatizing Incidents in such problems. Those taking part will have the opportunity of visiting high school Human Relations Clas ses and attending group meetings and health plays. This was the group's first meting this vear. Those elected were: Fred Set- er. chairman; Lenoir hmathers, vice chairman; Mrs, P. N. Higgins, secretary; Noel Fisher, treasurer; and Mrs. Wayne Burnett, reporter. A Program Committee was elec ted as follows: Bob Gossett, chair man; and Mrs. Tro Medford, Mrs. Jay Freeman, Gertrude Hall, Phil lips Higgins, and Lewln Medford. The dub decided to start work on a project of new mail boxes as the first of a series of community improvements. Regular monthly meetings are to he held the second Tuesday of each month. . Burley Quotas For 1951 Might Get An Increase Over '51 WASHINGTON (AP Secre tary' Brannan said the agriculture department may increase 1951 pro- duc':on and marketing quotas for burley and flue-cured types of to ujceo. These tobaccos are being grown under rigid marketing quotas which penalize excess sales. Rrannan said the department is reviewing the tobacco situation to determine whether the defense program makes it advisable to al low more to be produced.
