The Upper Crabtree Community Development Program will hold their first Annual meeting this Tuesda night, February 27. The meeting will take place at 7 o'clock in the Mount ion Methodist Church. Purpose of the meeting is elect officers and committees for 1951. Chairman Charles Ross, in charge of all residents B attend. The Jonathan Creex Commun ity Development program group will meet -Wednesday night at the Rock Hill School at 7:30. it was announced today by Euos Boyd, chairman. All citizens of the community are urged to attend the meeting. Crabtree PTA Endorses New Education Setup The Parent-Teachers Association of the Crahtree-lion Duff school. Friday night, voted to approve a proposal for a five-member Hoard of Education for Haywood County, By this action they became the first group In the counts to approve the movement which has been dis cussed for several months. The two new members would be appointed by legislative action and would be in addition lo the present Upper Crabtree is well repre sented in the armed forces. Pvt. Mrs. Ray Haynes is confined lo her bed at home under her doctor's Mr. Waynesville. He said that a number of Way nesville people had asked him to advise them when certain stages of construction had been reached in order that they could apply for employment. Security regulations bar such information from being given out, it was explained. For this reason, no information is avail able through him, he explained. The Kula Gulf rejoined the I Atlantic Fleet, the first combatant warship of the "Mothball Fleet" to he recommissioned in New Eng- 1 land. Launched too late in 1944 to M-e war service, the Kula Gulf joined the Pacific Fleet in 1945 and did "magic carpet" duty bring ing men home from the Pacific Theatre.
