From Marines
Cpl. Lester Burgin Jr., has re
ceived his discharge from the Ma
rines and is expected to return
home tomorrow. He was re-ealled
to dutv last September and since
that time has been stationed at
Camp LeJeune.

The first sale of official Girl
Scout Cookies in this area was a
marked success, according to a re
port from Mrs, Harry Bourne, who
served as publicity chairman for
the sale.
Profits amounted to $267.00 on
178 dozen boxes sold by the girls
in 11 troops. The Intermediate
troop of Central Elementary
School, led by Mrs. Rankin Fergu
son won the distinction of selling
the largest number of boxes.
Mrs. Bourne declared that the
success of the project was due to a
large extent . to the co-operation
given the girls by the townspeople.

held Monday night at the Nurses'
