Elwood present ed a program on "Wild Flowers' at the April meeting of the Rich land Garden Club which was held Thursday afternoon at the country home of Mrs. Hugh Massie. Announcement was made of a new garden club which will be or ganized at the home of Mrs. Joe Cathcy Thursday afternoon, under the sponsorship of the Richland Olub. Mrs. James R. Boyd will have the program at the first meeting of the new group. Mrs. J. W. Ray reported on the tour of gardens in Tryon which was made by Mrs. Gwyn, Mrs. Sil er, Mrs. Ray, Mrs. John Smathers. Jr., and her guest, Mrs. Sara Mit chell of Wisconsin, and Miss Anne Albright. Mrs, F. G. Rippetoe presented the club a Garden Encyclopedac in memory of the late W. T. Shel ton, well-known flower gardener. Mrs. Robert Stretcher was elect ed a delegate to the state garden club meeting to be held in Wil mington, May 16 and Mrs. Long and Miss Louise MacFadyen were named alternates. Mrs. Long reported on the dub's project of beautification of the street leading to the Country Club. Preceding the meeting luncheon was served by the hostesses who were Mrs. Massie, Mrs. W, F, Swift, and Mrs. Ernest Withers. Special guests were Mrs. W. N. Thomas of Lake Junaluska, Mrs. W. B. Council Will Hold Dinner Meeting A dinner meeting of the Hazel- wood-Waynesville Girl Scout Coun cil will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. at The Towne House. Miss Albright Entertains For Dr. Greider Miss Anne Albright, former dean ot women at Western Carolina Teachers College, entertained Sat urday with a luncheon at her home in East Waynesville, honoring Dr. Freida Anne Greider, new dean f women at the College.
