Laverne Bissett are spending two weeks with relatives in Berne, Indiana, and Evans City, Penn. SERVICEMEN VISIT Captain and Mrs. Roger Blsson left Monday for Kentucky. Mrs. Bisson, the former Miss Essie Mae Hall, has been risiding with Mrs. Joe Beverage while Captain Bis son was overseas. Sgt. James Gibson has been a guest of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jethro Gibson. He has been station ed at Ft. Benning, Ga., but will go to California en route to Japan. Sgt. George R. De Bord has re turned to Eglen Field, Florida. He was accompanied by Mrs. De Bord and their daughter Frances. Mrs. De Bord is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Slsk. Sgt. Andrew V. Owen, Jr., is at home on furlough after spending several months in Korea. He will be assigned to Camp LeJeune. The chimes at Spring Hill Bap tist Church in Center Pigeon are easily heard in West Pigeon most of the time. During the revival that Noland'sCalf Show Grand Champion David Noland of Ratcliffe Cow, came home with the title of grand champion Ayrshire for his junior calf entry in the seventh annual Western North Carolina Junior Dairy Show Tuesday at the Hominy Horse and Hound pavilion. Five other Haywood entrants captured blue ribbons, and thirteen, including David's second entry, were awarded red ribbons. They were competing against some one hundred fifty cows, heifers and calves from the entire western part of the state. Johnny Mack Ferguson garnered three prizes. His Guernsey four-year-old took a blue ribbon; he placed third In the Guernsey fitting contest, and fourth in showman ship. In the Haywood county con test Monday, h won honors in both showing and fitting. The county runner-up in show manship, Harley Caldwell, placed third in showmanship at the dis trict meet. His entry also received a red ribbon. Carl Green, Jr., heard his Jersey junior calf pronounced best-of-breed. Blue ribbon winners besides Noland, Ferguson and Green were Ernestine Osborne, showing in the senior yearling class; and Nickie Williamson and LOy Lee William son, in the senior calf division. Awarded red ribbons were Har ley Caldwell, James Williamson, Joe Caldwell, Maxine Sims, for both senior yearling and senior Calf entries.
