ROSS National Chairman Education and Vocations In National Business Women's We Extend Hearty CONGRATULATIONS To The 36 Members Of Waynesville's Business & Professional Women's Club During Their Observance Of NATIONAL BUSINESS WOMEN'S WEEK September 23 - 29 PARKMAN'S HARDWARE Week 1951, the National Federa tion of Business and Professional Women's Clubs is launching a fit ting program in the .recruitment of women with business, profes sional and sDecialized skills need ed in the armed services of this country. In so doing, it pays tribute to the magnificent record women have made in those services, and bespeaks the aid of the clubs in learning of the requirements in tho various branches and in help ing to locate qualified young wo men and encourage them to enlist in the regular branches and in the reserves. A Clearing House on Job Infor mation, established in each club in cooperation with recruiting offic ers, employers and employment services will provide the members with accurate information which they may disseminate in their con tacts with women locally, in busi ness and community life. Various Services Represented "Women In Uniform Day" is be ing celebrated on MondaV. Septem ber 24, in many clubs during Busi ness Women's Week to let the com munity see and become acquaint ed with women who have served in the Army, Navy, Air Corps, and Marines; in the Nurse Corps artd the Medical Specialists Corps in the services; and to honor women recently enlisted locally in these branches. " Women in the Services have an opportunity to utilize their highest training and skills as full partners on the job ahead. The theme for Na tional Business Women's Week this year is "Full Partnership for the Job Ahead". National Business Women's Week has become a nation-wide institution. It is observed each fall and offers an opportunity to clubs, in launching their year's work for the new club year, to relate it to the community and arouse public Interest in Federation objectives. The idea of National Business Women's Week was conceived by Miss Emma Dot Partridge, Execu tive Director of The National Fed- praLion from 1924 to 1927. to call attention to the achievements of women in business and the profes sions and to give the community at large an opportunity to become ac quainted with the program of The National Federation. The first an nual observance was held April 15 to April 22, 1928. Business Women's Week poster this year carries out photographic ally the slogan theme that there should be "Full Partnership for the Job Ahead". Men and women are depicted working together on every phase of national endeavor with the partnership satisfac tory to all workers. They are photographed at the drawing board, in the laboratory, on the assembly line, and in branches of the armed services. . - Dominating all is a young girl broadcasting the Federation's slogan and announcing that women all over the nation have ac cepted full partnership in any of these jobs. The National Federation of Business and Professional Women's Clubs, Inc., sponsors the poster as a means of calling national at tention to its 160,000 members who are employed, and self-employed, and trained and equipped in skills needed -for the nation's strength in key places in business, government and the professions.
