Week 24
Years Old
The purpose o: National Busi
ness Women's Week is to dramatize
women's contribution to the eco
nomic, social and political life of
the community. The theme for Na
tional Business Women's Week this
year is "Full Partnership for the
Job Ahead".
National Business Women's
Week has become a nation-wide
institution. It is observed each fall
and offers an opportunity to clubs,
in launching their year's work for
the new club year, to relate it to
the community and arouse public
Interest in Federation objectives.
The idea of National Business
Women's Week was conceived by
Miss Emma Dot Partridge, Execu
tive Director of The National Fed-
praLion from 1924 to 1927. to call
attention to the achievements of
women in business and the profes
sions and to give the community at
large an opportunity to become ac
quainted with the program of The
National Federation. The first an
nual observance was held April 15
to April 22, 1928.
This twenty-fourth anniversary
of National Business Women's
Week is being celebrated by The
National Federationn of Business
and Professional Women's Clubs,
Inc. by its 2700 local clubs through
out the United States, District
of Columbia, Hawaii, Alaska and
its more than 160,000 members.

Business Women's Week poster this year carries out photographic
ally the slogan theme that there should be "Full Partnership for
the Job Ahead". Men and women are depicted working together
on every phase of national endeavor with the partnership satisfac
tory to all workers. They are photographed at the drawing board,
in the laboratory, on the assembly line, and in branches of the
armed services. . -
Dominating all is a young girl broadcasting the Federation's
slogan and announcing that women all over the nation have ac
cepted full partnership in any of these jobs.
The National Federation of Business and Professional Women's
Clubs, Inc., sponsors the poster as a means of calling national at
tention to its 160,000 members who are employed, and self-employed,
and trained and equipped in skills needed -for the nation's
strength in key places in business, government and the professions.
