Whisenhunt, Johnnie Cuddebaek, and Ott Ledbetter represents the Chamber of Commerce which is giving $500.00 to help defray ex penses. Most of this money will be used for premiums. All cattle must be entered bv Friday, October 12th, and stay un til 3:00 p.m. Saturday except baby beeves which will be entered on Saturday by 10:00. The county farm agents and vocational agricul ture teachers are working with the above committees in staging this event. It is expected there will be approximately two hundred head of cattle shown. SAM FERGUSON. , Mountaineer Reporter The- Fines Creek Community held its regular monthly meeting Wednesday night, October 3rd. Tom Brummitt, chairman, called the meeting to order, and White Oak, the visiting community, pre sented a program. A large crowd was present and all enjoyed the songs and plays put on by the guests "The Man-less McClure, Ray Smathers. Upper Crabtree: J. B. James Albert Ferguson, Herschel Rogers White Oak: George Boring, Rob ert Fisher, Sam Ledford. West Pigeon: R. O. Kelly, Jack P. McCracken, Ed Justice. Wedding" and the "Jury Trial" were a lot of fun. In the latter sentence was passed on Tom Brum mitt. He was ordered to take Fines Creek to White Oak and put on a program for them on October 13th, It was announced recently that the Fines Creek Cannery will re main open on Tuesdays until the canning season is over. Mr. and Mrs, Ernest Howard and daughter have been visiting Mr. and Mrs. Marion Kirkpatrick re cently, They are from Ohio. They hope to get moved soon to the old home of Hiram Rogers on Fines Creek. Mrs. Bollie Ferguson is still patient at Mission Memorial Hospital. Mr, N. C. James and sister Mag gie have returned to their home in Stalesville after visiting rela tives here. They came up recently to attend the funeral of their cousin Mrs, Hatlie Fish, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn McCracken and niece, Mildred Ferguson, are spending the week in Maryland. Miss Mary Jane Clark, Fines Creek student, returned home to day from the Haywood County Hos pital in Waynesvllle. Polio victim, Junior Ledford, son of Alonzo Ledford, became serious ly ill after returning to school. It is not yet known whether the sick ness is due to polio. Misses Lura Green and Clara Howell ate planning a. trip to At: lanla this week. Mrs. Ruth Ferguson Duckett and mother, Mrs. J.
