West Can ton Club collected the largest amount <S311.70? in the drive. Mrs. W. S. McElrath was presented with a gift for raising the largest amount. Mrs. Earl Poe, health chairman, reported on a comrttun ication she had received in regard ; to the Heart Drive. An offering was taken and $6.00 was contributed from the club to the Heart Fund. The club voted to accept its responsibilities with the Hospital ! Room Project. Mrs. Marshall Coop- j er. poultry leader, discussed eggs and their place in the diet. Mrs. j W. ,S. The O'Donells are en route to their home in Jackson, i Miss., after a trip to Raleigh. My Favorite Recipe < ? MKS..WILSON NANCE ? ? "????? r ? J BANANA CREAM PIE Vi cup sugai; Pinch salt 2 tablespoons cornstarch 1 tablespoon flour 2 puns milk 2 egg yolks 1 tablespoon butter 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 cup sliced bananas Baked pie shell Mix sugar, salt, cornstarch, and flour in top of double boiler. Add milk and blend together. Cook, over boiling water, stirring con stantly until thick and smooth. Cover and cook for five minutes. Blend a small amount of hot mixture into the egg yolks, then blend with remaining hot mixture. Cook over boiling water two min utes, stirring constantly. Add butter. Remove from heat, add vanilla, and cool. Stir in bananas and pour into baked pie shell. Top with whipped cJeam or meringue. Mints Mrs. Eldridge Caldwell, foods and nutrition leader for the Mag gie Home Demonstration Club, held an all-day meeting in her home on Thursday for the purpose of teaching members the art of making mints. Fifteen members were present and 28 pounds of mints were made. A covered dish luncheon was served. In the afternoon plans were made for a second workshop to be held in the Peachtree section of the community.
