No man or woman training for
any athletic contest can indulge
his appetites. He or she must
"be temperate in all things." an
other valuable lesson for Chris

We need, indeed, "the whole
armor of God, that we may be
able to stand against the wiles of
the devil."

he had conquered him, but, prone
and wounded as he was. Christian
managed to grasp his sword and
vanquished Apollyon, so that he
flew away.
So St. Paul advises his church
members, to "Stand therefore,
having your loins girt about with
truth and having on the breast*
plate of righteousness; and your
feet shod with- the preparation of
the gospel of peace; above all,
taking the shield of faith, where
with ye shall be able to quench
all the fiery darts of the wicked.
"And take the helmet of salva

which is the word of God."
The small boys of a Sunday
School class (and many of the
girls, too), will enjoy this mar
tial picture of the war-clad hero
of old, taking his sword of right
eousness to fight the evil of the
world. Radio and television stor
ies for children depict strong men
riding through the country aveng

be made very vivid for them.

THE CHURCH FOR ALL...
ALL FOR THE CHURCH
. _. _, .... . . , , ... ui<v it m unm-w.n?-n a tin n
The Church is the greatest factor on earth "or
the building of character and good citizenship.
If is a storehouse of spiritual values. Without a
strong Church, neither democracy nor civilization
can survive. There are lour sound reasons why
every person should attend services regularly
and support the Church. They are: (1) For his
own sake. (2) For his children's sake. (3) For the
sake of his community and nation (4) For the
sake of the Church itself, which needs his moral
and material support. Plan to go to church regu
larly and read your Bible daily.
