Announce Meetings
The Woman's Auxiliary of Grace
Episcopal Church has announced
two meetings for Tuesday. August
11.
The executive board will meet at
the Parish House at 10 a.m., with
Mrs. J. R. McCracken. president'
of the Auxiliary, presiding.
At 8 p.m. a general meeting of
the Auxiliary will be held in the
Parish House.
Mrs. McCracken will preside and
will give a renort on the Adult
Conference at Kanuga I^ake. Mrs
Roy Campbell will give a report of
the summer fair and bazaar held
last week.
Plans for the coming year will
also be discussed.

MISS JOVCE CARTER, 20, inspects the crown she will wear as
the 1953 "Oueen of Lake Junaluska" following her formal corona
tion August 15. A rising junior at the University of North Carolina,
Miss Carter is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Carter, year
round residents at the lake. She was elected by Methodists of
more than a dozen states in attendance at Junaluska, winning over
three other candidates in a spirited campaign. The runner-up,
Miss Lucy Neeley, Columbia, S. C? who will be a sophomore at
Wesleyan College, Macon, Ga., will serve Miss Carter as Maid of
Honor. The third principal in the coronation will be the 1952

MYF Plans Hayride
And Picnic For Sunday
The Youth Fellowship of the
First Methodist Church will have
a hayride and picnic supper Sun
day afternoon, followed by a ves
per service.
The young people will meet at
the church at 2:30 p.m. and will go
to the Pink Beds for supper and
vespers.
Tommy Curtis is serving as
chairman of arrangements for the
outing and Stanford Massie will
he in charge of recreation.
