Cornwall, commander of Fleet Air Wing 5, arrives at the Navy Building in Boston to open an investigation of the explosion on the aircraft car rier Leyte, in which 36 persons were killed. They were brothers of Mr.' 1 Messer v ho di?d last week in a lo cal hospital. * We are glad to learn that Mrs. Jack Canard has been discharged from tile Mission Hospital in Ashe ville, and is now recovering at her daughter's, Mrs. Hershel Bradley, who lives in Waynesville. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Reese of St. Petersburg left Friday for their home after .spending a week with Mr. and Mrs, George Boring. The Reeses spent two weeks in July but returned in October to see the "much talked about color season" for their first time, and they sure ly weren't disappointed. A class get-together party was given by Miss Virginia Ledford at her home Saturday night. Most of the guests were from the 10th and 11th grades at Fines Creek School.
