HERBERT tUGENE HUEBNER were married last Week In the chapel of Bellevue Baptist, Memphis, Tenn. The bride is the former Miss Agnes Pallia McClure, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Porter McClure of Memphis, formerly of Waynev vllle. Miss Agnes Paula McClure Weds Herbert E. Huebner Miss Agnes Paula McClure, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Porter McClure of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Waynesvllle, became the bride of Herbert Eugene Huebner, Tuesday,"" Octo ber 27, in the chapel of the Belle vue Baptist Church, Memphis. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Huebner of North Garland, Memphis. Dr. Robert G. Lee officiated. The chapel was decorated with vases of white gladioli, burning white candles and greenery. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a waltz length gown -of Chantilly lace end nylon tulle over satin, with lace bolero. Her veil of illusion fell from a cap of lace and seed pearls' and she carried a white Bible topped with a white orchid. Miss Barbara McClure was her sister's maid of honor. She wore a gown of lilac organza over blush pink net and taffeta and carried \gvender astersj tied purple satin. Howard Baker was best man and Buddy Vinson was an usher. The mother of the bride was dressed in grey lace over rose taf feta with matching accessories and her corsage was of baby white vandals. The mother of the bride groom wore navy blue and her corsage was of pink carnations. After the ceremony the couple left for a wedding trip and upon their rpturn will reside at their new home at 4008 Grantham Drive, Whitehaven, a suburb of Memphis. Library Will Stop Hospital Service The board of directors of the Haywood County Library at a meet ing Friday afternoon decided to discontinue the weekly visits of the library staff to the Haywood Coun ty Hospital Wednesday afternoons. The action was taken because of an insufficient staff to meet the dnily increasing demands at the library and on the bookmobile. It was also noted that many books had been lost. The board expressed regret at the necessity of stopping the ser vice, which was started in October, 1!>46. Members of the board present were Col. J. H. Howell, chairman, Mrs. T. Lenoir Gwyn and William Medford. For traveling the bride wore a suit of forest green wool with British tan accessories and the or chid from her Bible. Mrs. Huebner is a graduatae of WaynesviHe Township High School and attended Western Carolina College. Prior to her marriage she was employed as stewardess with American Airlines. Mr. Huebner is a graduaate of Christian Brothers College, a vet eran of World War II, and attend ed law school. He is employed with Bluff City Buick Co. Mem phis. The J. H. Howells Entertain On Sunday Night Mr and Mrs. J. H. Howell, Jr . entertained in their home Sunday etening as a courtesy to their guests, Mr. and Mrs. Gist Finley of York S. C., and to Col. and Mrs. J "H. Howell, Sr., who were ob serving their forty-fifth wedding anniversary. Mrs. W. F. Swift and Mrs. Boyd Owen greeted the guests at the front door and the hosts and honor guests received in the living room. Miss Nancy Killian presided at the dining table, which was center ed with an arrangement of fruit and vegetables representing a farmer taking his harvest to mar ket in a horse-drawn wagon. Wright was co-hostess. Ten members present had as' ?heir guests Mrs. Porter Frady, Mrs. Jack Bowen. of Mobile, Ala., and Mrs. Bertha M. Singletary, of Lumberton. Mrs. Singletary spoke briefly on "The Grooming of Flowers," and ?he club heard reports by Mrs. J. L. Edwards on the District 1 mpet ing held recently in Franklin and bv Mrs. Wright on Horticulture. The club voted to place six dish gardens in the Haywood County Hospital: to hack and join the Waynesville Garden Club Council; and the make Christmas decora tions which will be put up for sale. ? ? ? Club Plans Show Of Spring Bulbs, Shrubs Plans are being made by the Richland Garden Club for a spring flower show of blooming bulbs and flowering shrubs. The show will be held the first week in April. Announcement of the show is being made at this time to give those who wish to exhibit an oo portunity to plant additional bulbs and shrubs. Mrs. J. H. "Education For Responsible Par enthood" is the subject of a study course to be held at the Hare 1 wood Elementary School, Wednesday, November 11, from 9:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. under the sponsorship of the Parent-Teacher Association. The course will be taught by Miss Blanche E. Haley of Greens boro, state field representative of the PTA, who will make her an nual visit to this district at that time. # , Registration will be held in the school auditorium at 9:30 a.m. af ter which Miss Haley will discuss "Emotional Growth of the Child; Behaviour Problems and What Is j Normal." A coffee hour will be held at 11:1$ a.m. followed by a discussion of "Adolescents." Lunch will be served in the school cafeteria and the after noon program will be on "Parent hood Facts" with the use of re cordings. Miss Haley, is a native of Clin ton, Massachusets and is a gradu ate of Massachusets General Hos pital School of Nursing, Boston; Simmons College. Boston: and the School of Public Health of the Uni versity of North Carolina. She held a position as head nurse and later supervisor at Massachusets General Hospital and served in the Nurse Corps of the U. S. Army in Africa and Italy. She has also been employed on the Public Health Program in Kellogg Training Centers, Branch County, Michi gan. She has been with the State PTA for two years. ?
