Several Haywood County Home
Demonstration Clubs elected new
officers at meetings last week, and
at the same time celebrated Christ
mas with parties and demonstra
tions of Christmas decor and wrap
ping.
The Francis Cove meeting was
in the form of a Christmas dinner
at the home of Mrs. Grady Sisk.

Mrs. Medford will go to Chicago

1 Convention of the American Farm
Bureau, a trip which she w'on in a
Bureau Membership Drive.
Iron Duff members voted to do
nate a large box of toys to needy
families for Christmas. January
meeting will be at the home of
Mrs. Medford.
Mrs. Robert Davis was hostess^
to the White Oak Club for its
t^hristmas ^arty. Mrs. George Bor
ing was co-hostess and presided.
Plans were made for the January
1 meeting to be held in the home of
Mrs. WaltdV Lowe with Mrs. Rcwe
Ledford, co-hostess.
Saunook ladies celebrated by
entertaining their husbands with a
banquet in the school lunch room.

Mary Cornwell, home agent, gave
a talk, '"Planning for Christmas,"
in most of the communities.
The Rev. Maloclm R. Williamson
was the guest speaker at the vesper
service Sunday afternoon at Ashe
ville School for Boys.

Hear Chorus Monday
The St. John's High School Ctfee
Club will entertain the school's
parents club at its fleeting tonight.
Monday, at 7:30 p.m. in the school
auditorium. The glee club will sing
a selection of Christmas songs.
Mrs. Steven Czarnechi is chair
man of the program "and refresh
ments for this meeting. It has been
announced that the new school
movie projector, which the Par
ents Club recently purchased, will
be on display this evening.

Death Takes
Mrs. Hindman
'After Illness
I Mrs. Anna Larrimore Hindman,
! 66 of Waynesville, died Saturday
at 9:30 a.m. in the Waynesville hos
pital after a long illness.
She was the wife of Dr. Sims
Hindman, pathologist at the Hay
wood County Hospital.
| Surviving, in addition to tie
husband, are two. daughters Mrs.
Henry Key of Horse Shoe and Mrs.
Lawrence" Brautigan of Qrosse lie,
Mich; one sister, Mrs. Louise
Sherwood of Toledo, Ohio; and one
brother, W. W. Larrimore of Fred
I erick, Md.
The body has been sent to Tole
do. Ohio, for funeral services and

Christmas Party
The Waynesville Homemakers
held their annual Christmas dinner
at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carl
Ratcliffe Saturday night.
The home was decorated through
out with Christmas arrangements
and Santa Cla'us distributed gifts.
