Holiday House Tour Will Be Held Friday, 18th The Holiday House Tour, spon sored by the Richland Garden Club, oliginally set for Thursday has been postponed until Friday,- De cember 18. according to an an nouncement by Mrs. J. M. Long, chairman of the event. The date was changed on ac count of the concert of the Waynos ville High School Band and Chorus which will be held Thursday night. Four homes and the Waynesville Country Club will be open to the public during the hours from 3 un til 5 o'clock in the afternoon and from 7:30 until 9:30 o'clock in the evening. The homes to be visited , are those of Mrs. Robert Turner*, i Mrs. Ralph Prevost, Mrs. Harry 1 Whisenhunt, and Mrs. J. H. Smat'h ers, Jr. Miss Lou Elva Eller will i be hostess at the Country Cltib. ! The Christmas Story in flannel graph will be shown by Mrs. Phil lip Chase and Christmas music will be directed by Miss Kathleen Nash. Students will participate in sing ing carols with Margaret Wilson, second grader as soloist. Mrs. Robert Walker will preside luring the business hour and re ports will be given by committee chairmen. Way Saturday afternoon. 0 Christmas Dance Will Be Colorful Social Event Glitter and gaiety will mark the Christmas dance which will be held by the Beta Sigma Phi soror ity Saturday night in the Waynes ville armory. The decorations will feature a huge Christmas tree in the center of the ball room and vari-colored spotlights will be focused on hundreds of Christmas bails. Music for the dance will be furnished by Ted LamRley and his Cavaliers of Hendersonville. Miss Edna Summerrow is serv ing as general chairman for the event with the following commit tee chairmen: publicity, Miss Ber nice Harrell; decorations, Mrs. CeciJ Rlanton and Mrs. Raymond Caldwell; and tickets, Mrs. Hugh Potts and Miss Edith Summerrqw. Advance tickets may be obtain ed from members of the sorority or at the Ladye Fayre Beauty Bhop. Engagement Of Miss Summerrow Is Announced Announcement of the engage ment of Miss Edith Marian Sum merrow, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Cleveland Summerrow of Hazelwood, to Murray Ray Whls enhunt, son of Mrs. Walter Mur ray Whisenhunt of Waynesvllle and the late Mr. Wnlsenhunt, was made at a tea given Saturday af ternoon with Mrs. J. H. Way as hostess in her home on Main Street. The wedding date was re vealed as January 16. The announcement was inscrib ed on miniature wedding bells which were presented to the guests on arrival by Marietta Campbell, granddaughter of the hostess. Also receiving at the front door were Mrs. Jonathan Woody and Mrs. Hugh Massie. Mrs. HUliard Atkins introduced the callers to the receiving line which was composed of the host ess and bride-elect and the lat ter's mother and sister, Mrs. G. C. Summerrow and Miss Edna Sum merrow. Mrs. Thomas Campbell, Jr. and Mrs. Hugh Sloan. Sr., received in the entrance hall and Mrs. W. F. Swift and Mrs. Ben Sloan receiv ed at the entrance to the dining room. The home was decorated throughout with Christmas greens and candles with the "exception of the dining room which was arrang ed in the bridal mot(f. The table was covered with a cut work linen cloth and held a centerpiece of white chrysanthemums flanked by white candles in silver holders. Mrs. T.
