Clyde Fisher and Miss Debnyda Fisher entertained with a bridge luncheon Saturday after noon at The Lodge in eompliment to Mrs. Heyward Smith, Jr., the former Miss Saralyn Brittain of Wedowee, Ala. The tables were centered with arrangements of spring flowers and the honoree was presented a gift. Prizes were awarded following the games. The guest list included Mrs. Smith. Mrs. Heyward Smith. Sr? Clark received at the entrance to the dining room and Mrs Ernest Withers presided at the tea table Others assisting were Mrs. L. K. Barber and Mrs. Hil liard Atkins. Mrs. R. N. Miss Mary Moore Is Speaker At DAR Meeting Miss Mary Reed Moore present ed the program at a regular meet ing of the Dorcas Bell Love Chap ter, Daughters of the American Revolution Friday afternoon. The meeting was held in the home of Mrs. K. L. Coin with Mrs. Kate Morris, Mrs. J. N. Shoolbred, and Mrs. M. H. Reeves as hostesses. Miss Moore spoke on St. Pat rick, giving a sketch of his life and telling of his contribution to Ireland, (ler talk, in addition to being extremely informative, was interspersed with Irish humor. Reports of the State Conference of the DAR held this month in Durham were given by Mrs. J. H. Howell. Sr., Mrs. Ben Colkitt, Mrs. J. W. Killian, and Mrs. R. N. Bar ber. A letter was read from Miss Betty Barber, who served as a page for the meeting, expressing her appreciation at being chosen for that honor. Mrs. J. L. Elwood. regent, pre sided and reports were given by committee chairmen. Mrs. J. 1^ Howell announced that a box weighing 18 pounds had been sent to Crossnore from the Joseph How ell Society of the Children of the American Revolution. Mrs. S If. Bukhnell, chairman of citizenship, announced that she had presented pins to Miss Sylvia Newell of the Waynesville High School, and Miss Rosemary West of the Bethel High School, who were selected to represent I ho chapter in the state good citizen ship contest. The group decided to leave the decision on how to vote on the proposed amendments to the DAR constitution to the discretion of the delegates to the National Congress. * * ?
