Frank Cathey of Butler, N. J., son |
of Mrs Thaddeus A. Cathey of
Clyde# N. C\, and the late Mr.
Cathey.
The bride U a daughter of Mrs.
Theodore Stavrakis of Staten
Island and the late Mr. Stavrakis.
The ceremony was performed lu
the chapel of Riverside Church by
Dr. J. Gordon Chamberlain.
Mrs. Gram Damiano of Staten
Island was her sister's matron of
honor. The best man was Ralph
Hess of Cedar Grove, N. J.
The bride wore a ballerina-length
gown of Ice blue taffeta with white
lace trim. Her headdress was a
Juliet cap to match her dress. She
carried a bouquet of white orchids
and stephanotis.

a purple orchid with white pom
pons
After a honeymoon trip through
the Pocono Mountains of Pennsyl
vania, the couple will be at home
at 88 Longvlew Street, West
Orange, N.
Mrs. Cathey was graduated from
George Washington High School,
and the Merchants and Bankers i
Business School of New York City.
She is secretary to one of the part
ners in the consulting engineering
firm of Brown and Blauvelt.

On Heraldry !
A regular meeting of the
Waynesville Woman's Club was
held Thursday afternoon in the
dining room of the First Methodist
Church.
A social hour preceded the pro
gram and refreshment.'; were serv
ed by tfie hostesses. Miss Pearl
Harris, Mrs. Linwood Crahl, Miss
Margaret Eider, and Mrs. J. R.
Hipps Miss Harris also entertain
ed with piano selections.

Mrs. H B. Poy, whose subject was
"Heraldry". She discussed the de
velopment of heraldry and explain
ed the meaning of colors and de
signs in coats of arms.

Mrs. K. K. Campbell presiding, new
year books were distributed by.

ed chairman of a nominating com
mittee.
In response to a request from

The annual Week of Prayer and
Self Denial observance will bo
marked by a special program to be
given an the Central Methodist
Church at Clyde on Thursday, Oc
tober 27, beginning at 10 a.m.
The program will be sponsored
by the Woman's Society of Chris
tian Service of the Church. Mrs.
Roland Leatherwood. Mrs. Gerald
Pish, and Mrs Frank Chambers are
in charge of arrangements for the
service.
Talks will be given on the mis
sion ^projects whlfh will be the
beneficiaries of the Week of Pray

Methodist Church
A service will be held in the
Boyd Memorial Chapel of the First
Methodist Church, Thursday at
3:30 p.m. in observance of the an
nual Week of Prayer and Self De
nial.

by the Woman's Society of the
church with Mrs. Henry Gaddy,
Spiritual Life secretary, in charge
of arrangements. Special music will
be presente dby Mrs. H. L. Liner,
Jr.
Mrs. Gaddy will lead the medi
tation on "A Trust, O Lord, From
Thee".
Mrs. J. K. Stringfleld and Mrs
James W. Fowler. Jr. will speak
on the mission projects which will
benefit from the Week of Prayer
