HI I Woman's Club Has Program On Cherokee Indians Two guests from the Cherokee Indtap.&tpervation presented the proeiW et ? meeting of U?e W?y nesyllle Women's Club Thursday afternoon in the dining room of the First Methodist Church The speakers were Mrs. Nan Smith, native Cherokee, and Mrs. Arneach, a teacher in the Chero kee scbpoi. They exhibited crafts and objects.of art made on the reservation. including woven mate, wood carving, basketry, and dolis. . Mrs. Smith discussed the cus toms of the Cherokee today as compared to customs during her eerly childhood, and answered questions asked by her audience. Mrs Roy Campbell, grand daughter of Col. Will Thomas, famous fHOnd and apodted son of the Cherokee, displayed papers relative to the Indians which had belonged to her grandfather. A book display was shown from the Haywood County Library's collection on Cherokee history. Mr*. Campbell presided and hostesses were Mrs. R. C. Lane, Mr*. R. If. Barber, Mrs W N.
