Maggie HDC Members Attend Council Meeting By MBS. C. L. BRADLEY Community Reporter Several members of the Maggie Home Demonstration Club attend ed the county council meeting held at the courthouse Friday. Present were officers Mrs. Eldredge Cald well, Mrs. C. L. White, Mrs. Bar ney Woody, Mra James Hall, Mrs. Dave White, and Mrs. C. L. Brad ley and members Mrs. R. L. Clem ent aqd Mrs. Fred Emory. We are glad to see some of the sick of our community up and around again. James Rich is out again after an extended illness. Others on our sick list are Mrs. W. P. Boyd, Mrs. Harry Bradley, John Campbell, and Pink Rich. We welcome Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Gemin back to our community af ter a two-months visit in Dayton, Ohio. We are sorry to lose Mr. and Mrs. Fred Emory and their son. Walnwright, from our community. They have sold their home and are moving to WSynesville. We are proud lo see the Maggie community keep growing through the winter months. Several new houses have been built to the Wild Acres development and Mr. and Mrs? Claude Medford have added several new units to the Mount Val ley Inn. The new lights that have been Installed along the highway in Mag gie have helped to brighten up the valley through the winter months when we have very few tourists around. S We wish to congratulate the con gregation of the Victory Baptist Church for the fine work they have done in erecting their new church. They are planning to buy new seats and a carpet soon. L. Justice of Bethel. Mrs. James Ratcliffe of Ratcliffe Cove, Sam P. Liner and W. Hardy Liner of Ratcllffe Cove, C. K. Liner of the Howell Mill Road, and G. W. Liner of RatelifTe Cove. (Mountaineer Photo). Ratcliffe Cove Baptist Church Founded In 1897 By MRS. ALGIE RATCLIFFE In 1896 a group of people in Ratcliffe Cove met in a little log house, belonging to Henry Liner, for the purpose of organizing a Baptist church. A year later this church became a reality. Mr. and Mrs. Liner and five of their eight children moved their letters from the First Baptist Church and became the first char ter members of the new Ratcliffe Cove Baptist Church. The five children Included: J. R. Liner (deceased), G. W. Liner, now a deacon in the church; C. R. Liner, W. H. Liner, and Elizabeth Liner Ratcliffe. Later on Sam. Nettie, and Nan Liner became members of the Ratcliffe Cove Church. Now 80 years old. G. W. Liner is still active in church affairs, and has three daughters, who are also members of the Baptist Church. (On his 80th birthday, a grandson was born.) C. R. Liner, now 78 years old, joined the Waynesvllle First Bap tist Church in 1894 and moved his membership to Ratcliffe Cove in 1897. He has one "child, a Metho dist. W. II. Liner joined the Ratcliffe Cove Baptist Church in 1897 and was cydained a deacon in 1911. Still active in church affairs, he has two children, both Baptists. Elizabeth "Liner Ratcliffe joined the Ratcliffe Cove Church as a charter member in 1897 and is still active at the age of 74. Sam Liner joined at Ratcliffe Cove in 1911 and continues to be an active member at 72. Nan Liner Justice joined the Ratcliffe Cove Baptist Church in 1902. and later moved her mem bership to the Bethel Presbyter ian Church. She has three chil dren, one a member of the Clyde Methodist Church, one at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, and one at the Bethel Presbyterian Church. Charter members of the Rat cliffe Cove Baptist Church were honored at a special service last Sunday. The service also honored the Liner Family and Mr. George Liner and Mrs. Elizabeth Liner Ratcliffe who were celebrating their birthdays. Cakes were presented to Mr. Liner, Mrs. Ratcliffe and Mrs. R. V. Ford, an elderly member of the church, by the congregation of the church. Following the service the Liner family was hosts to a dinner in the old church building with the entire congregation as guests. , ADMINISTRATOR'S NOTICE TO CREDITORS Having qualified as administrator of the estate of Wilson E.
