Try canned ones emptied into a cas-. serole, topped with sliced luncheon meat, baked in a moderate (375 degrees) oven for 30 minutes, then garnished with onion rings. You cn substitute beet sugar for cane sugar in any recipe with the same results. They're chemically identical, so use what's available and economical. Barbara Griffith and Dorothy Grasty "Slow down and live." How many times have we, the WTHS stu dents, heard this most valuable warning? Well, last Tuesday in chapel many of us finally began to realize how important and what a re sponsibility it is when one is be hind the wheel of an automobile. In chapel we had as our visitors Patrolman Dayton, Chief Noland of Waynesville and Sgt. Jones from Asheville. Sgt. Jones gave an in teresting talk on Highway Safety and the part we, the young people, play. Each person was given a pledge card to sign. Also, Tuesday night a meeting was held in the courthouse to con [ tribute to the problem of safe driving. I am sure that we have all seen the effects of carelessness on the driver's part and I know every one will Join in and say "we will all try to slow down and live." If anyone has been around the music department. I am sure they have seen or heard that beautiful new Hamilton piano. It certainly Is nice. It will be used in different events and programs to be pre sented in the future. We certainly are proud of it. Today the WTHS band made a trip to Brevard and Asheville to give a concert. We are all looking fnmuarH t a hovino thn T do FHwnrHc and Brevard bands visit us. Well, roll out the drums and bring the horns along because we are really going to have some mighty fancy stepping next year out of those new junior majorettes. Leading the Junior Band next year as majorettes will be: Roddy Ed wards, Doris Blanton. Emily Hyatt, Ann McClure, Barbara Sherrtll, and Betty Jean Davis. Congratu lations girls!
