Psychologist To Speak To E. Waynesville PTA Stanley L. Nale of AshevlUe, clinical psychologist, will be the speaker at a meeting of the East Waynesville Parent-Teacher As sociation Tuesday, March 20, at 7:30 p m. His subject will be "Mental Health." Miss Vivian Bushong of Ashe Vtlle was the guest speaker at the regular meeting of the Canton Woman's Club Tuesday in the as sembly room of the Canton Li brary. Introduced by Mrs. A. R. Spears, the speaker explained the "Finer Carolina" program, and told of ac complishments and future plans. She stated that citizens must work together in an effort to make this program successful. She sug gested a planned program for planting colorful shrubbery, and cited the need of a local youth center. Miss Bushong illustrated her talk with a film dedicated to bet ter living, Mrs. Clyde R. Hoev presided during the business ho ir, and Mrs. Ralph Crawford was elected to serve as corresponding secretary. The announcement was made that "Friends of the Library" campaign will begin next week. A social hour followed, and the tea table was centered with an ar rangement of spring flowefs Miss Lura Wright was a guest. Host esses were Mrs. O. M. Hampton, chairman, Mrs. Clay Pegram. Mrs. Wade Hill, Mrs. W. C. Reece, Mrs. W. M. Kirkpatrick, and Mrs. Spears. ? ? ? Lakeside Club Meets With Mrs. Harrell The Lakeside Home Demonstra tion Club met at the home of Mrs. J. S. Harrell Tuesday night with Mrs. Francis Webb as co-hostess. Mrs. Rankin Ferguson presided and the devotional was given by Mrs. Ed Glavich. Mrs. James McClure, health leader, reported on activities planned in the field of health. All project leaders related their re ports to activities in Venezuela. These were given on Home Gar dens by Mrs. Francis Webb. Home Beautification by Mrs. Bill Burgin. Food Conservation by Miss Kate Phillips, and Family Lif^ by Mrs. Rudolph Carswell. The demonstration was given by Miss Mary Cornwell.
