April 2 The anaouMement came this morning from J. W. Fowler, Jr., superintendent of the Lake. Members of the State Wildlife and Resources Commission recently made a teat of the Ash hie in the 290-scre lake and announced that it is ready for the Aahermen to take over. There are baas, bream and crap pic in the Lake, and according to the recent check, they are present In large numbers. The Lkke is being opened earlier than wa? first expected would be possible. The re-stocking program o' about 12 months ago. plus the fact that the waters of the Lake were c'osed to fishing last year, gave time for the fish population to grow to auch H sire as lo permit flatting. All fishermen will be required to have a state and county license and in Addition, a permit from (he Lake. The season lake oermiia are $7.90 while the dally permit is 90 cents. Supt. Fowler said that Police Chief Everett McEIroy and State ProteeUjrYWilliams would be on hand Monday to Issue permits to fishermen. Last year the Lake went to con siderable expense to rid the body of water of carp, a rough flah. The lake was drained and all game flah were put into a pool until the clear* ance of carp had been completed. MangrjIgAM returned to the waterTWere it inches long.
