Fender and Mrs. Boyd Medford as co-hostesses. Guest speaker was Mrs. James B. Hurley of the Canton Garden Club, who spoke on "Preparing Show Entries Both Horticultural and Arrangements." Sadie Hawkins Dance Scheduled At St. John's For Saturday Night A "Sadie Hawkins" dance, leap year style, is to be held at St. John's Hall on Saturday, April 14. Hours are from 8 p.m. to 11:30 p. m. and admission is 25 cents a person. The St. John's Parents' Club is sponsoring the dance. Woman's Club ? To Meet April 19 The Waynesville Woman's Club will hold its regular monthly meet ing on April 19 at 3 p.m. in the Social Room of the First Metho dist Church. Hostesses will be Mrs. H. L. Baughman. chairman, assisted by Mrs. W. A. Bradley, Mrs. M. G. Stamey and Mrs. W. D. Smith. The program will be under the direction of the education section of'the club, of which Miss Mar garet Elder is chairman. Partici pating in a symposium on educa tion will be Mrs. L. E. The demonstration on "Clothing Construction" was given by the Home Agent. * * * Junaluska PTA Sets Womanless Wedding Memberj of the Lake Junaluska P.T.A. wifl sponsor and take part In a "Womanless Wedding" plan ned for ^pril 12 at the Lake Juna luska school. The show will start at 8 p.m., with hot dogs, hamburgers and pie on sale from 6:30 to 8. Admission will be 50 cents for adults and 15 cent* for children. Alpha Theta Chapter To Make Plans Tonight For Founder's Day The Alpha Theta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi will meet tonight in the home of Miss Louise ('Sis') Francis on East Street at 7:30 p.m. Final plans will be discussed concerning the Founder's Day Din ner, Ritual of Jewels Ceremony and Installation of Officers, all of which will take place on April 30. The Founder's Day Dinner will be a Joint dinner meeting with the Xi Omicron Chapter. Miss Elaine Francis will present the* program tonight on "The Printed Word In Your Life," to conclude the programs for the closing year. Mrs. Raymond Caldwell, presi dent, will preside. * * * Sgt. and Mrs. Joseph Mack and three children have returned to their home in Waynesville for a 48-day leave after spending; 19 months in Hawaii, where Sgt. Mack was stationed with the U. S. Ma rines. Enroute home they spent several days in Detroit with Mrs. Mack's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Taylor, who accom panied them to Waynesville for the weekend. Aliens Creek Club Meets At Home Of Mrs. McCracken The Aliens Creek Home Dem onstration Club met Monday after noon at the home of Mrs. Hiram McCracken with 11 members and one visitor, Mrs. R. J. Fowler. The devotional was given by Mrs. Tom Moody. Reports on the County Council meeting were giv en by Mrs. McCracken. Health report sheets were given to each member. Mrs. Arthur Dills and Mrs. Moody Farmer were named dele gates to the 4-H camp in May. Mrs. Farmer reported on a trip to the North Carolina coast. Davidson Alumni To Meet April 17 Davidson College alumni in the AsheviUe area will meet in Ashe ville on Tuesday, April 17, for the annual spring Banquet and Ladies Night. The dinner meeting, which will begin at 6:45 p.m., will be held in the Fellowship Hall of the First Presbyterian Church. New officers will be elected dur ing a short business session.
