Mountaineers End Season Friday With Brevard; Bearcats Win 1-0 Duel in a piwners' duel Monday night, the Mountaineers dropped their 1 fourth game of the season and the second straight to Hendersonville in a hard-fought 1-0 battle. Both Waynesville's George Mlt-!' chell and Hendersonville's Bill Da- ' vis gave up only two hits, but the , Bearcats put together two hits and a walk for the winning run. Mit chell struck out seven. The Census Bureau predicts 21 million Americans over 64 in 1975. . ? j Champion YMCA Softball League To Open Tuesday The Champion YMCA Men's softball league will open play this Tuesday night. May 22 on the church diamond. A total of six teams have enter ed the league this season. They are Champion Y Juniors, Cham pion Mill, Clyde. City. Dayton Rub ber. and Calvary Baptist. Each team will play one game a week with Tuesday set aside for the games. Opening .schedule for this Tuesday will be as follows: 6:00?Juniors vs Clyde; 7:00 ? Champion Mill vs City, and 8:00 ?Dayton vs Calvary Baptist. All players must be members of the YMCA before participating in the league. Champion Mill won the league last year. A 200-pound hog has 16 pound.; of bacon.
