T. W. Palmer Pies In Florida T. W. (Tub i r, pioneer Miami end Port Lauderdale, Pie., reel estate broker and former ama teur golf star, died at bis home in Port Lauderdale Tuesday after an illness of several months. For the past 20 years he had spent his summers here and owned a motor court here at the time of his death. Last year he had built a new summer home. Palmer was one of the original developers of Miami and Miami Beach and had built and once owned the Columbus Hotel of Mi ami. In sports, he was 1226 Florida state amateur golf champion and had won aeveral tournaments in the South, Including a Biltmore Forest Country Club event near Asheville. Among his close friends was former national golf star Bobby Jones. He and Jones had played aeveral private matches. ' Palmer Is survived by his wife. Funeral services were held to day. The Wesleyan Service Guild will hold its regular meeting tonight in the home of Mrs. David Burch. The WSCS of Rockwood Church met last Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Harley Wright. Mrs. Roy Robinson presided and was in charge of the program. "Our Com munity in the World" was dis cussed by Mrs. Jim Harris. Mrs. W. M. Williamson and Mrs. M. T. Cars well. Reports were heard during the business and pledges for the new year were taken. The Baptist Brotherhood of Oak Grove Church is continuing the study of the Brotherhood manual this week. Around 40 children have en | rolled in the Vacation Bible school vhich opened at Rookwood Church Monday morning.
