Legion Auxiliary Has Installation Of New Officers New officers of the American Legion Auxiliary were installed at a meeting this week In the Legion Hall. Mrs. Hoy Campbell con ducted the installation. The officers are Mrs. Robert Hall, president; Mrs. Neeson Smith, vice president; Mrs. Raymond Caldwell, secretary; Mrs. Robert Gibson, sergeant-at-arms; Mrs. Roy Campbell, historian; Mrs. J. T. Russell, treasurer; and Mrs. Lyn wood Grahl, chaplain. Mrs. Raymond Caldwell, out going president, presided. Committee chairmen were ap pointed as follows; Mrs. Leo Mar tel. membership. It was also decided to purchase stock in the Waynesville Recre ation Commission. ? ? * FRENCH DESSERT The French have a wonderful way of pouring soft custard over fresh strawberries and topping with small poached meringues. This des- | sert is called Oeufs a la Neige. Fresh fruits other than strawber ries may be used, of course. At I the wonderful old Ritz Hotel in New York we used to enjoy this dessert on occasion with sliced; fresh peaches. When we ate it again recently at Henri Soule's Pavilion Restaurant, the meringues had threads of caramelized sugar over i them. * * ? Methodist Stewards Are Hosts At Supper I Members of the First Methodist Church and their families were en tertained at a barbecue supper giv en by the board of stewards of the church last night on the church lawn.
