A highlight today was the taking of the first two ballots, and pos sibly a third tonight, for the elec tion of two new bishops of the jurisdiction Observers predicted that no minister would receive the necessary majority vote on an early ballot. The new bishops are to be con secrated at the closing service Sunday night in the main auditor ium. They will fill Vacancies creat ed by the retirement this week of Bishop Costen J. Harrell. Since the recreation program is a Chamber of Commerce creation and L have of necessity been with its formation from the beginning. The board heard several re-, ports, among them a project to w hich President Thompson said he would name a committee to in vestigate in every degree ? the high freight rates for Wavnesville as compared to those of nearby towns.
