Thickety Singing School Started An old fashioned singing school will begin at Oak Grove Baptist Church Monday at 7:30 p.m., con ducted by "Pa" Johnson of WWIT. Sessions will be held Monday through Friday for a two weeks period. ? ? ? ' Mr. and Mrs. Tom Jimison and children spent the weekend with Mrs Jimison's parents, at Murphy. Their son, Mike remained for a longer visit with his grandparents. ' - Mr. and Mrs. Ben Kennedy have returned to Winston-Salem and Norton. Va., after spending a few days with her mother, Mrs. T. G. Murray and family. Miss Neely Ford returned to Barium Springs Wednesday after spending two weeks with relatives here. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Cobh and daughters, Bonnie, Joan. Dianne, and Margaret, of Vestal, N. Y.. arrived Friday night to visit Mrs. Cobb's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Williamson, and other relatives here. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Head and son. Jimmy of Washington State, have been visiting her sister, Mrs. Nath an Wilson and family, and other relatives in this section. They left for home Tuesday, accompanied by Earl Martin Wilson, who will spend the remainder of the sum mer there. Enroute home they plan to stop at Moristown, Tenn., to visit Mrs. Jack Tabor and family. Mrs. E. E. Stockton visited her sister at Boone last week. Ferguson had one side of his store building front demolish ed Saturday night about 11:30 when a fast-driven car failed to make the turn to the Iron Duff bridge and made the store front instead. No one w'as hurt. Three young men were in the car. The store front was more damaged than the car. Mr. and Mrs. H. H- Holt spent last Tuesday in Fletcher visiting Mr. Holt's sister. Judge G. W.
