Mil.LARD FERGUSON Community Reporter Our Lower Crabtree farm women are in the midst of the canning season?and what a bountiful sea son it is. with everything "can nable" in abundance. The Bible School of Crabtree Methodist Church under the lead ership of the Rev. A. R. Davis and Mrs. Hugh Noland had com mencement exercises last Sunday morning. The entire enrollment of 25 students received perfect at tendance certificates. Members of the Crabtree Meth odist Church held a supper meet ing Tuesday night in the dining room of the church. They dis cussed next year's work calendar The WMU of the Crabtree Bap tist Church met oh Wednesday in stead of Saturday for their regular meeting, The change was due to the annual decoration day which will be held Saturday, August 4. at Panthers Creek Baptist Church. Jack Justice and Kenneth Parks of High Point were here Sunday for the birthday of their mother. Mrs. Bill Parks. The event was celebrated at the home of Mrs Parks' son-in-law and daughter, Mr and Mrs. Bill Hill, of Rateliffe Cove. Only members of the family were present. "Aunt" Bessie Robinson cele brated her 77th birthday Sunday at the home of her son-in-law and daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Creasman. Among the 30 guests present were a daugliter-in-law, Mrs. Boon Robinson of Pasadena, Tex.; a granddaughter, Mrs. Bob Heiiandz. her husband and two children, of Charleston, S. C.; and another granddaughter, Mrs. Charles Webb, and Mr. Webb, of Greenville, S. C. The Rev. A. R. Davis Is in Mooresville this week assisting his father, the Rev. F R. Davis,, in revival services at the Rocky Mount Church. Mrs. Hugh Noland has returned to her home from an Asbeville hospital, where she was a medical patient. I Joe Bob Nesbitt. son of Mr. and Mrs. B, F. Nesbitt, sustained a severe cut on the foot while mowing the lawn last week. Mrs. Robert Wood is home from St. Joseph's hospital, Ashevilte, with her infant son Robert Wayne. Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Wynn and and two sons, who have been visit ing Mrs. Wynn's parents. Mr. and Mrs Vinson Davis, have returned to their home in Harrisburg, Pa. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas McClure and grandson, Wayne Stewart, of Laurel, Miss., accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Finley of Delhi, La , were guests last week of Mr. McClure's brother-in-law and sis ter, Mr. and Mrs. Matt Caldwell The Rev. R. G McClamrock of Thomasville, pastor of the Crab tree Charge from 1928 to 1932, spent several days here last week. All former students of the Hay wood Institute in our community are asked to remember that Sun day, August 5, is reunion day at the Clyde Baptist Church. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cockrell and their daughter Barbara spent the weekend in Atlanta. Ga., with Mr. and Mrs Gilbert Jones. Mr. and Mrs. O. E. Bradshaw uf Gastonia were guests last week end of Mrs, Bradshaw's brother, Gordon Woody, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ballard Webb. Mr. Woody returned to Gastonia with his sister, where he will be pianist at the wedding of his niece. Mr. and Mrs. Millard Ferguson, accompanied by their guests, Mr. and Mrs. George Few of Greer, S. C? attended "Unto These Hills" Friday. Mr. and 1 Mrs. James Tomkins and their three children of Balti more, Md? have arrived to spend Several days with Mrs. Tomkins' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vinson Davis. Mrs. Lawrence Davis has arrived from Fort Knox, Ky., to visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andy M. Ferguson, until her husband, PFC Davis, receives his discharge Sep tember 1. * Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Seay of Greenville, S. C., and Mr. and Mrs. George Seay of Greer, S. C., sons and daughters-in-law of France M. Seay, who once lived in this area, were here last week looking up old friends and rela tives. Monroe Noland, who has been visiting Mrs. Noland and their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Joe McElroy, left this week for Anaconda, Mont., where he is employed.
