The local chapter holds weekly meetings. A number of people have asked about the prayer of the A A and the 12 steps' taken by members The prayer is as follows: "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the ui^iom to know the difference" The 12 steps are: 1. We admitted we were power less over alcohol that our lives had become unmanageable. 2. Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could re- , store us to sanity 3. Made, a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Mini. 4 Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves! !> Admitted to God. to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs. 6. Were entirely ready to have j God remove all these defects of character. 7 Humbly asked Him. to re move bur shortcomings. 8. Made a 1 i-t of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to l hem all. !! Made direct amends to such people wherever possible except when to do so would injure Uiem or others. 10 Continued to lake personal inventory and when we were wroiig promptly admit it \ 11 Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our con scious contact with tiod a* we un derstood Him praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out. 12.
