She wore gown of white imported j Chantilly lace and tulle over taffeta, designed and made by her mother. The fitted bodice was fashioned with a sweetheart neck line and short sleCves. The full skirt of tulle was appliqued with lace and pearls, and a wide back panel of lace swept into a chapel length train Her two tiered veil of imported illusion, appliqued with lace, was gathered to a lace cap trimmed with pearls Her pearl necklace was a gift of the bridegroom, and her mitts were of matching lace. She carried a white prayer book topped with white lilies and showered with streamers Mrs Ben R. Cato, Jr. of Wil liamsburg. Va. was her sister's ma tron of honor. She wore a ballerina ! length gown of pink embossed nylon, designed with a moulded bodice. V neckline, and full skirt. She wore a matching picture hat, and carried a pink fan with White chrysanthemums, | Bridesmaids were Miss Jane Stroud of Moorehead City, room mate of the bride at Duke Uni versity, Miss Mary Talley of Randleman, Miss Barbara Smith of Greensboro, cousin of the bride. Their gowns and hats of blue embossed nylon were idential in j design to that of the honor at tendant. They carried blue fans with white chrysanthemums. Miss Sherrill Lynn Cosgrove of Hudson, Ohio and Miss Karen Lee Cato of Williamsburg, neices of the bride, were flower girls. Horace L. Smith, pastor of the church. A pro gram of wedding music was pre sented by Miss Doris Ann Law rence, organist, and Mrs. Ted Whitted, Jr., vocalist. The bride wore a gown of Clian tilly lace and tulle over satin, fashioned with a fitted bodice, long tapered sleeves, and a sabrina neckline. The bouffant skirt of tulle was designed with a lace peplum. Her two tiered veil of French illusion, edged with Chantilly lace, fell from a tiara of seed pearls and iridescent sequins. Her only ornament was a string of pearls, two years in the U S. Army, and is presently a student at Pfeiffer College. a gift of the bridegroom. She carried a white prayer book topped with a white orchid. ( showered with satin streamers and tube roses. Miss Joyce Lee Hightower, sis ter of the bride, was maid of hon or. She wore a gown of emerald green satin, fashioned with a long torso and bouffant skirt. Her bandeau matched her colonial bouquet of pink and white summer flowers. Robert V. For traveling the bride wore a suit of champagne cotton brocade, pink accessories, and the orchid from her Bible. Mrs. Arrington is a graduate of Canton High School, and has been employed by the Southern Bell Telephone Company in Canton. Mr. Arrington was graduated from Waynesville High School and at tended Western Carolina College. He is employed by the Hooper Construction Company in Arling ton, Va. Frank Fate, also of Canton, was runner up The show, sponsored by the Can ton Council of Garden clubs, was leld Thursday and Friday in the Canton Armory. Mrs. Pate, winner of first place In the arrangements division, was iwardcd the Stella P. Bottoms trophy. Second place winner was Mrs. Neil Vetoe. Mrs. Bottoms, winner of first [>lace in the horticulture division, was awarded the Margaret Ander son Stone trophy. Mrs. Pate won second place. In the fruits and vegetables di vision Mrs. J W Bennick received [he first place award, and Mrs. Bottoms was awarded second place. In the junior division Miss Beth laeocks won first place, and Miss Linda Whitted won second place. Miss Doris Plott was winner of the tri-eolor award in the artistic arrangements division.
