Floyd McClure of WaynesviUe, became the bride of Torrence David In gold, son of Mrs. Catherine Elliott of Charlotte, Saturday, August 11, at 4 p.m. in the First Baptist Church here. The Rev. Paul Mull performed the double ring ceremony. A pro gram of wedding music was pre sented by Mrs. Peg Robinson, or ganist, and Miss Peggy Hoover and Miss Lois Watkins, soloists, all of Charlotte. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Iter dress was fashioned of white eyelet embroid ered organdy over pale blue taf feta and she wore a matching pic ture hat. She carried a Victorian bouquet of white chrysanthemums, circled with lace and white satin streamers. Mrs. Earl D. Crawford, sister of j the bride, was matron of honor and the bride's only attendant. She wore a street length dress of pale; blue voile and carried a bouquet ? of mixed flowers. Glenn Elliott of Charlotte was best man and ushers were James I). McClure. Edwin McClure, and Earl Crawford. Mr. Ingold is a graduate of Bel mont Abbety and served in the Navy. He is now employed with Crane Company in Charlotte. Mrs. Ingold graduated from WaynesviUe Township High School and is now employed as a secre tary with the J, B. Ivcy Company in Charlotte Following the. ceremony the couple left for a wedding trip to Radium Springs, Georgia after which they will make their home in Charlotte. * * * Miss Trantham Is Bride Of C. Saturday. Au- ; gust 18. at 6 p.m. in the Canton Calvary Baptist Church. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Ben L. Ray. pastor of the church. The bride wore a waltz-length gown of white nylon lace, fashioned with long tapering sleeves and sabrina neckline. The bouffant skirt was designed with a scalloped peplum and her fingertip tiered veil of illusion fell from a matching cap | bf lace. She carried a white Bible lopped with white carnations and showered with baby's breath. Ushers were James A. Trantham. brother of the bride, and Wray Freeman of Rutherfordton. Following the ceremony the par pnts of the bride entertained at a buffet supper, Forty guests were present including members of the families and out-of-town guests. For a brief wedding trip the bride wore a dress of pink polish ed cotton with white accessories. Mrs. Littlejohn was graduated from Canton High School and at tended Gardner-Webb College. The bridegroom was graduated from Hudson High School and Gardner- j Webb College and plans to con- ; tinue his studies at Carson-New man College in Jefferson City, "enn. this fall. Marriage Of Miss Womack Is Announced Announcement has been made of the marriage of Miss Helen Hose Womack to Joseph Francis Christopher, which took place June 9 in Greenville, S. C. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Ellen Womack of Waynes-, ville and Arthur Womack of Nash ville, Tenn. The bridegroom's parents are Fred Christopher of Hazelwood and Mrs. James A, Mil ler of Waynesville. Mrs. Christopher was graduated from Waynesville High School and attended Western Carolina Col lege. She is employed with Econ omy Loans. Inc. Mrs. Leo Burgman Wins Top Asheville Show Award Mrs. Leo Burgman of Balsam won the sweepstakes award for the second year in a row in the 17th annual Flower, Fruit, and Vegetable Show held at City Auditorium at Asheville this week. In all she won seven prizes and medals The show is sponsored by the Men's Garden Club of Ashe ville Mrs. Burgman took first place in four divisions: annuals, dahlias, gladioli and perennials; and received the New England Gladioli Society silver medal for best collection and the bronze medal fpr best spike.
