! The CDP will meet Monday
?night at the Community house at
7:30. Miss Iva Ann Deaver and Miss
Linda Gail Allen will have the pro
gram. The business will be con-1
ducted by the chairman.
The WSCS Circle No. 3 of the
Central Methodist Church had
their monthly meeting at the home
(of Mrs. David Smart Monday night.
Airs. C. E. Brown, Jr., was in
charge of the program. Patricia
Lindsey was in charge of the music
and sang a solo. Sixteen members
were present. Refreshments were
served 4after the meeting by the
hostess.
A picnic sapper will be held at
the cemetery at 6:30 Friday night
by the CDP. The men will meet
?n the afternoon and mow the lawn
The women are asked to bring a
picnic suppjr, and the men furnish
the mowers.

Chapel Methodist Church attended
the quarterly conference at Beav
erdam Church last Sunday night.

commanding officer. The former Wayncsville man graduated froin
the Iron I>ufF high school in 1913, and has been in the Navy since,
lie is now stationed in Fleet Aircraft Service Squadron Four, based
at the Naval Air Station. San Diego, Calif.

The Jerre Massey family held
their annual reunion last Sunday j
at the old Massey home which is
now the summer camp home of
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Robinson of
Clyde. Sixty members were pres
ent including all the children and

Mr. Richard Packett celebrated
his 71st birthday last Sunday with
a family dinner at hi.s home given
by his three daughters. In addi
tion to the daughters, 11 grand
children and other relatives and
friends were present.
Seaman apprentice Jack Kins
land, who has been visiting his j
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clinton
j Kinsland, left Tuesday for San
DiegO, Calif., to enter engine
man's school. He recently com
pleted his basic training at Great
Lakes, 111.

Union. S. C., last weekend to
attend the funeral of her brother

CPO James Jones arrived last
week from Brooklyn. N. Y, to
spend a few days with Mrs. Jones .
and the children. He has been sta
tioned in Bremerhaven, Germany.
He was joined by his brothers and
their families. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph
Jones and two daughters of Okla
homa City, Okla., and Mr. and Mrs.
Gilmer Jones of Atlanta. They all
spent Sunday in Buffalo, S. C.,
with a sister, Mrs. Kannie Huskey
Miss Kathleen Hoglen. a student
at Blanton's Business College.
