By NEWMAN CAMPBELL 11 THE FIRST part of today's i lesson telling of Jesus blessing little children is one the younger members of the class will readily understand and love. It occurred in February. 30 A.D. Mothers brought their little children to Jesus that He might tcuch them, but the disciples seemed not to like this, and they rebuked the mothers. When Jesus saw this He was distfeased and said to the dis ci^^k "Suffer the little children td^Phe unto Me, and forbid them not; for such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, who soever shall not receive the king dom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein. "And He took them up in His arms, put His hands upon them and blessed them." I wonder if these children, when they grew up remembered Him and His blessing, and would tell their friends about it as a lovely remembrance of their I - but we must do our part and cpen the door of our hearts to let Him in. On the Isle of Patmos, where John had his great vision, he writes: "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. "And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, "'coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her hus band. "And God shall wipe away all of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men. and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God. "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more deaths, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away." What beautiful, comforting ? = 1 MEMORY VERSE "And the Spirit and the bride (the church) say, Come. And let him that iv athirst Come. And whosoever will, let Mm take the water of life freely."?Revelation tl:17. childhood ? Did they become His disciples? Wc cannot know, but of all the stories in the Scrip tures of our Lord's life, this is one of the loveliest. How can people be unkind to little children? Occasionally, we read in our newspaper of a par ent who beat a child so severely that the child had to be hospital ized and sometimes died. The child may have cried long and hard, or been disobedient, as children are sometimes, but the parent's uncontrolled rage was much more of a sin than the child's fault. Could such a parent ever forgive himself or be happy again after such an act? In the book of Revelation?the last book in our Bible and written during the last decade of the first century?Christ says: "Be hold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him and he with Me." This applies to everyone, from the smallest and youngest to the oldest: He wants to help us all. word* these are! If we accept Christ's invitation to open to Him and we Keep His command ments, we can take them to our hearts and cherish them. "And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. "In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare 12 manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. "And there shall be no more curse; but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and His servants shall serve Him." Our references in Revelation will be a source of delight to the older classes and should be read and discussed in these classes. And the younger ones will also love the descriptions of the New Jerusalem and the comforting words of God about tears being dried, and pain and death tan | ished. r.o!"ea on rnpyrijtnirn outlines prooureu oy tn* envision 01 unnniinn i^'uc^iw". Distributed by King Feature* Syndicate 1 FRIENDLY { TABERNACLES The author of the 84th Psalm was a great lover of the earthly habitations of God. The temples, shrines and holy places of Israel were his chief delight. He found them friendly, inviting and comforting to his soul. In one of his moments of spiritual ecstasy he broke forth in song: "How amiable are thy tabernacles, O Lord of hosts!" he sang. "My soul longeth, even fainteth for the courts of the Lord." There are millions today who look upon God's earthly houses ? the churches of the land ? in much the same way. They are glad when the church hour comes and they can * mingle with others in worship and spiritual fellowship. The church around the corner or over in the next block is not a cold and formal place, once you come to know it. It breathes friendliness and sym pathy. It comforts and inspires and points the way to a kind and loving God.
