Canton High Campus Cuff notes ? ? ' ' i ? By JIMMY HELGAR The highlight of ttie past school week was t^e overwhelming defeat Canton gave Waynesville last Fri day night. This was the worst defeat Waynesville has suffered in the past 25 years. Canton took their fourth straight victory at a s<cre of 45 to 6. The Black Bears are really hustling this year with only 12 points scored against them in all four games. The pep rally Thursday, the night before the big game, was a great success. Many Canton High students participated and showed that they were backing their team all the way. In the assembly on Friday morn ing we saw a film of the team I 'Iff Washes ? * ?^Lif it's starched^ leaders led us in the school cheers. The cheerleaders this year are very enthusiast ict The first issue of "Bear Tracks," the school newspaper, came out on Thursday. The "Bear Tracks" staff issued a very good paper and the students were eager to get their copies. The paper announced Color Day for Friday and red and black were prevalent that day. Clubs are becoming very active and more are being organized this year. A Classic Club is a new one where students will be study ing classical music. The Christian Youth Organization seems to have a larger attendance than any other club. This club has a great out look at CHS and seems to have a great bearing on the activities around school. The Student Council, under the leadership of Charles Greene, has been holding its meetings and dis cussing problems of the school. The homeroom representatives have been elected and attend the meetings every other Monday. These representatives are going to form the Junior Red Cross Coun cil. The first school party, a sock hop, was held Saturday night in ( a . 0 OUR FACt J comb1 POTATOES U. S. No. 1 10 lb Bag 29c f >: n..u c Red Delicious g APPLES 5 lbs 35c ; Red Tokay ?
