While one of his guests was reeling in a whitefish a big 10-pound northern pike clamped his jaws on the hooked finny. The pike was persistent. Judd. a native of Phil adelphia. has recently joined Well co Shoe Corporation as comp troller. Mr. Judd. who is a CPA was graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and has been elect ed to membership in the American Institute of Accountants, the Penn sylvania Institute of Certified Pub lic Accountants and the National WAITER EQUILS (right), an American from New Kensington, Pa., ts one of the three latest captains who have signed on as Suez Canal pilots. White, Haywood Native, Dies In Wash. World has been received here of the death of Ebed A. White. 73. a native of Haywood County, at his home in Darrington, Wash., on September 24. Funeral services were held in the Darrington Baptist Church on September 26 with the Rev. Wil liam Breedlove officiating and burial was in a Darri.gton ceme tery. Pallbearers were JetT Donaldson. Horace McCracken, Ai-thur Cabe, Thomas Shorpless, Harvey Hyde, and Fred Bryson. White was born at Mount Sterl ing on June 8, 1883 His death came after a long illness. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Fannie Paxton White, also a native of this county; two daughters. Miss Ruth White of Darrington and Mrs. Bill Castle of Portland. Oregon: five sons, Charles, Julius. Bo\d, and 934 Drunken Drivers Lost Drivers' Licenses In Sept. The Motor Vehicles Department took action on 934 drunk driv ers in September, withdrawing their legal driving privileges for twelve months or adding further penalties for repeaters. The September summary of license revokable traffic offenses included two drunk drivers convicted of their fifth offense. Speeders, customarily second in the monthly summary, came in with 685 convictions and a consequent loss of driving riKhts. The vehicles agency listed most speeders in the over 70 mph class. Regulations require a 30 day suspension for speeding over 70 in a passenger car. the department said. Other convictions reported during the month included driv ing after license withdrawn, two counts of reckless driving, trans porting intoxicants, hit and run, manslaughter, and incompetency. All told tike September accounting of license revocations and suspensions came to 2176. This compares with 2228 for September of last year.
