Hiram Atkinson." s After an illness of about three months Hiram Atkinson died at the home'of his father, Mr. H C. Atkinson, 'last 'Sunday, nigh . at about 12 o'clock. . He - had suffered ' much during his long illness and'a greater part of the time little hopes' were intertained fpr his recovery, but -some weeks ago it was thought he "was wel on the road to recovery when he suddenly changed for the- worse ' and gradually grew weaker unti his death Sunday night : . Hiram was fifteen years of age and was a bright and i promising youth and was much loved by all who- knew him. The .graded school of which he had been i faithful pupil, suspended Mon day afternoon in order : that the school might attend his burial in a body. which took place that afternoon at 3 o'clock in Elm wood Cemetery, Revs. Jno.. S. Wood and C. L. 1 Whitaker con ducted the services in the pres ence of a large concourse ot sor rowing, relatives and friends, he following members of his class acted as pall bearers: Sam mie Hollaway, Willie Meyer, Aubrey McDaniel, Sammie Dick ens, Bennie " Mann,! and Exum 'Ward.
